BREEAM is a method of assessing, rating, and certifying the sustainability of buildings. A BREEAM assessment uses recognised measures of performance including ecology. Developments can achieve ecology credits under criteria LE02 to LE05 which may include the requirement for an ecology survey, a calculation of the net change in biodiversity and the production of landscaping proposals and a management plan.
