Ecological Clerk of Works

An Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) may need to be appointed during construction of a development. 

Responsibilities may include:

• Production of construction management plans
• Production of habitat management plans and mitigation strategies
• Delivery of toolbox talks
• Site checks (e.g. nesting bird surveys, pre-commencement badger walkover, hand searches for amphibians, reptiles and hedgehogs)
• Supervision of site clearance and/or construction activities
• Compliance audits and monitoring
